2/8 to 2/14

What a rocky start to the new week. I got absolutely nothing going in the 3 MTT’s I played Wednesday. I spent $30 on the $5 rebuy on Absolute, $55 on Stars, and $22 more on Stars and didn’t even sniff the money. Luckily the NL tables were still being good to me. I got paid off in a $120 pot on UB with AA vs JJ on a 10 high flop. I ended up about $80 in a fairly short period of time playing the cash tables and was breaking even on 6 $10-$20 heads up SNG’s till I finished the night off with a win in a $50. All total I played a fair amount on the night and ended up a paltry $25. Not what I was after but glad I was still ahead after spending that much on tournaments. Well tonight went about as bad as possible. I don’t think I ever hit anything. I played about 250 hands of NL and dropped about $50. Nothing happened anywhere else and ended down about $75 for the night. This was by far the worst night playing NL that I had. I never made a set or hit a flush all night long. Luckily had TPTK hold up a couple of times for decent pots or it could have been ugly. Time for a good weekend. The previous sentence made me laugh when I reread it. Man was this a terrible weekend. I played some horrible poker. I’m not going to do much other than a quick recap. Friday and Saturday were only slightly ahead after playing horrible and winning one massive pot but Sunday I dropped about $300 after having my first NL sitting when I lost my buyin, $200. Nothing happened in the tournaments I played as I only had one small cash. Overall just some bad playing on my part. Way too much calling and not enough raising and folding. The one big hand played out in a 2/4 NL game on Stars with $400 max buyin. I was feeling a little frisky and jumped in. I bought in for the $400 and was down to about $300 after some bad play. Then I ran into a guy who couldn’t fold AA with a board reading JJxx and failed to see the signs when I put in a $250 reraise had me feeling good again. Two days left in the week to turn it around and Vegas on the horizon next weekend has my spirits up still. Hopefully I can get back to the basics and start winning again. The week ended on a down note. I dropped a little less than a hundred with a small loss in some NL action and lost every Heads up SNG and the MTT’s I played. Very little playing to end the week since it was Valentines Day. I did lose the what I played so no love for me at the poker tables tonight. On the week I ended up down about $400 which puts me in the negative on the month. This is pretty frustrating to me as I have had nothing going this past week. I think it is time to hit the ole bread and butter for a week and multi-table some 2/4 and 3/6 Limit cash tables for a week to get back in the swing of things. I will be in Vegas this coming weekend so a nice cash in one of the tournaments there or a nice middle of the night at the 10/20 cash tables could make all good in the world again. I will have a separate post when I get back from Vegas with a rundown of the trip. Also, I mentioned a post about my playing style and I haven’t forgotten about it I just have been very busy at work the last week and I generally do my updating at the office. I will hopefully get that done this week. As soon as I do I will post on PA. Good luck this week in your playing.
