2/1 to 2/7

Tonight I played a PA league game and a Satellite to the 150K on Dise that was sponsored by P5's in which 15 seats ($3225) were added. Very good value but my 99 ran into AA and I was out. It was an absolutely sick field as P5's has some absolute monsters that are members there. I then decided for this month I was going to try my hand a little at some 1 / 2 Blind NL. I sat down at UB with Max buyin, $200, and played about 125 hands. I saw 21% of the flop I believe and managed to leave up almost $60. Not sure how those numbers rate but was overall very happy with my play. With the tournament buyins and a little loss in some limit poker I managed to only turn a very slight profit. Tonight I gave the NL a try again and had some good success. I only managed about 50 hands but managed a profit of a little over $50. I then played a couple of $20 heads up. I then signed up for a $20 Limit Tournament on UB and was fortunate enough to make the Final Table. Cashed for a little over $200 so a nice profit of about $275 for the night. The weekend brought very little action. Nothing interesting happened on the tournament front and not a lot of cash game play. Friday I ended down just under $100 after getting nothing going in the tournament I played and then dropped a little in a NL cash game. Wasn’t much to Saturday either. Between a couple fo SNG’s and some cash games I finished up just under $50 for the night. Sunday with the SuperBowl I played very little. I think I lost $6 in about 30 min. to 1 hr. of playing. I did drop $76 on the Game as I really thought Seattle would win. I guess that counts even though it wasn't poker it did come out of my BoDog account. Monday brought a small cash in the $3 rebuy on Stars and a break even night at the Heads Up SNG’s. I did play some more NL on Stars. I won a few small pots and then played KK perfectly when I got to call an allin with top full house from a guy that thought his KJ os was good. I used one of my favorite plays to get it allin on the turn for a $175 pot. All total I had over $100 in profit for the night. Not a great week so far but well into the black. A nice cash Tuesday night will finish off the first week of February nice. Let’s see what I can do about that. Tuesday was a good night at the cash tables but that was about it. I had the Monthly stake game in which I staked Hench18 in a $20+2 180 MTT on Stars. Both of us busted before the 1st break but Teri747 got deep and OfficerPizza made the FT finishing in 9th. I then played a couple of SNG’s finishing down the vig as I split in the games but ended up about $75 after about 125 hands at the NL tables. This left me up about $25 on the night after tournament buyins and the Stake. It was a profitable week but only for a little under $300. It would have been more had I not thought the Seahawks were a good team. Winning is definitely better than losing so I guess I can’t complain to much but that was not quite the rate at which I had hoped to win. As far as my first week playing some NL I would consider it a success. All total I won slightly over $300 playing NL. This somewhat surprises me as I really don’t think of myself as a NL player. I would say I played somewhere around 400-500 hands. I know that is a small sample but I have never really had any success playing NL. I will continue working on this aspect of my game next week and see where it takes me. It sure seems like there is a lot of money to be made playing NL as opposed to limit. I’m not going crazy though and ditching limit as it has really been good to me. I have also been working on a post for here about my style of play and why I play the way I do. It is pretty long and very general and I should have it finished in a couple of days depending on how busy I am at work. I’ll update on PokerAnalysis when I get it posted. Good luck for us all next week.
